Посмотрев с утра Soul Hunter, и перечитав по дороге на работу драфт сценария (из Volume 1), обнаружил, что grapple hook в задумке должен был быть не железным крюком, а скорее чем-то вроде Звездновойновской "балки буксировщика" ("tractor beam" в переводе одной из книжек):


EXT. THE TWO SHIPS
And sure enough, Sinclair's ship begins to pitch and yaw just
like the other ship, moving closer to it, matching the
rotation.  He closes the gap between the ships.

                     SINCLAIR (V.O.)
           Closing in.  Twenty feet.  Ten.
           Five.  Activating grapple.


TIGHTEN
As Sinclair's ship sends out WAVES of MAGNETIC ENERGY that
engulf the other ship.  The crackling rainbow of color catches
for just a moment...then blips out.

INT. SINCLAIR'S FIGHTER - CONTINUOUS
As he works the controls.
                     SINCLAIR
           Negative contact on grapple.
                     IVANOVA (V.O.)
           Forty seconds.
                     SINCLAIR
           If I can't get it on the next path,
           you'll have to destroy it.
                     IVANOVA (V.O.)
           Understood.
                     SINCLAIR
           Activating grapple.

INT. OBSERVATION DOME
As we see the display, showing the ships getting dangerously
close to the station
                     IVANOVA
           Stand by defence grid.  Prepare to
           fire.  On my mark, not a second
           before.
EXT. SPACE - INCOMING SHIP
Sinclair's ship fires the magnetic grapple again.  It shimmers
once again doesn't seem to catch.
                     SINCLAIR (V.O.)
           I'm not getting it...

INT. OBSERVATION DOME
The Tech lookd nervously to Ivanova.
                     TECH
           Ten seconds...
                     IVANOVA
           Stand by.
And a SHADOW...the shadow of the incoming ship...passws over
her face as she looks out of the dome.
EXT. SPACE - FAVORING SHIP
As the magnetic grapple plays over the incoming ship...and
finally manages to CATCH.  The glow totally engulfs the ship.
                     SINCLAIR (V.O.)
           Got it!
He FIRES the fighter's engines.  The ships, joined like Siamese
twins, ANGLE AWAY from the station seconds before implact.
(Whould like to see the exterior of the dome, and the others
just visible inside, as the ship swings away in FG.)
